Rotary Alignment Station:
Equipment to align the Bevel of Cannulae to a desirable Position 100% in-line on Assembly Lines

DEKA - click to enlarge

Properties:

  • touchless laser detection of the bevel
  • rotary alignment of a bevel

Additional Advantages: Deviations like

  • cannula bent
  • no bevel
  • cannula upside-down
  • no cannula

are found

For many applications of cannula products, e.g. blood bag needles, fistulas, IV-catheters and butterflies etc. the bevel of the cannula is facing upward at use. Thus the cannula bevel needs to be aligned regarding the hub/grip of the needle during the assembly process. To avoid demages at the needle tip the touchless laser detector was developed.

Technical Data:

  • cycle time below 0.5 seconds
  • accuracy of the alignment +/- 1 degree
  • two different positions can be aligned - this function may be required for round table assemblies
  • all sizes of cannula can be aligned down to 31 G

Components:

  • laser with power supply
  • bevel detection sensor and electronics
  • cannula fixation accessable by the rotary drive
  • controlling and evaluating electronics to run and to monitor the whole alignment process
